Are you new to the Charlotte Mason approach? Me too!

I am not gonna lie…the researching and reading has been a little overwhelming to my brain. I have been making my way {slowly} through a couple of different books to get a handle on Ms. Mason’s philosophies. I have all of Ms. Mason’s original books in Kindle version and I read them when I can, but it is such intense reading that I can only get through a few paragraphs at a time. I purchased the Home Education in Modern English: Volume 1 of Charlotte Mason’s Series to read along with the original series, one part at a time. It is really helping to shed some light on Ms. Mason’s fancy talk, plus I can highlight and write my thoughts in it for future reference. Also on my reading list: A Charlotte Mason Companion: Personal Reflections on The Gentle Art of Learning(TM) {another that I have highlighted and written notes in so far} and For the Children’s Sake: Foundations of Education for Home and School.

New to the Charlotte Mason Approach

Another way that I am learning about the Charlotte Mason Method is by reading and following along with a few Charlotte Mason Homeschool blogs. So, I thought I would share a list of my favorite Charlotte Mason blogs that I have discovered.

These are not in any particular order according to their fabulous-ness…they are all equally FABULOUS!

1. Jimmie’s Collage
2. Penny Gardner
3. Guiding Light Homeschool
4. Our Journey Westward
5. Handbook of Nature Study
6. Practical Pages
7. Teachers of Good Things
8. Joyous Lessons

So, over the next few months I will be sharing with you, my journey into learning about and using the Charlotte Mason approach in our homeschool…the why’s and how’s, the do’s and don’ts, the “what works for us” & the “what doesn’t work”.  If you have any questions or want to share some tips, please feel free to leave a comment!
