The first field trip I took my children on was to the farm. Being a Texas girl, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

A farm in Maine is quite a bit different than a farm in Texas. As is a farm in Connecticut is different than a farm in Maine.

I’ve been to farms in all of the states I lived in as a Navy Brat. Each state’s farms were unique but have similarities as well.

Animals are by far the most fun part of visiting a farm. This is especially true for children.

However, as our kids get older, a trip to visit the farm might not be as fun as it used to be. After all, they are growing up.

There are ways to make learning about farm animals and visiting the farm fun and interesting, even for tweens.

Consider teaching them about what it takes to run a farm, the specific breeds of their favorite animal, opportunities that come with running a farm.

While your tweens may not be as excited to visit the farm as they used to be, I’m certain that you can still make learning about farm animals enjoyable for them.

Inside this farm animals middle school pack you’ll find notebooking pages, vocabulary worksheets, games and more.
