Winter is the longest season in the north woods of Maine. Our first snow comes before Thanksgiving, sometimes before the end of October.
May is the last month we usually see snow. That means we have snow for 7-8 months out of the year.
For some, that sounds like heaven. For me, the Texas girl, I’d rather live in the desert. The beach preferably, but the desert is more my cup of tea than being frozen 3/4 of the year.
April is a beautiful month, no matter where you live. Back home, in Texas, the bluebonnets are blooming beautifully. They make the perfect background for family photos.
In Maine, the ice and snow are melting, making waterfalls the perfect hike for the month of April.
The buds are reaching for the sun eager to share their beauty with everyone.
