When I was being homeschooled we didn’t have digital curriculum. There really was only one main option for homeschooling when I was growing up, textbooks. No fun unit studies or online classes, every day we pulled out our mountain of textbooks and got to work completing the day’s lessons.
As a homeschool mom, I am thrilled that we have digital curriculum now! In fact, I don’t know that I would ever want to not have it. I use digital curriculum in my homeschool every day and my children love it almost as much as I do.
While I don’t solely use digital curriculum, as we’re getting started with the child led homeschooling method, I am finding that we are using it more than we have the last 7 years we’ve been homeschooling.

Just in case you’re curious as to why I love digital curriculum so much or maybe you’re a bit hesitant to try it out for yourself, these are my top 6 reasons that I love digital curriculum!
Digital curriculum can easily be used for multiple students in a family
Once you’ve purchased your digital curriculum you can print as many copies as you want for all of the students in your family! You don’t have to buy extra textbooks or workbooks, just one digital curriculum works for the entire homeschool family!
Digital curriculum can be used multiple times
Sometimes homeschool children are spread over a large age gap or maybe your child wants to learn about dolphins again. No matter what the reason, you can use the same digital curriculum over and over again just by reprinting it!
Digital curriculum is easily adaptable
Homeschool families typically have children of all different ages, with digital curriculum you can often adapt the lesson plans or worksheets to work for any age or grade level! Some digital curriculum comes with multiple age/grade level options in the same file or it can be purchased/downloaded separately.
Digital curriculum allows me to print only what I want to use
If there are pages my child doesn’t need or things we don’t want to cover, then I don’t have to print those pages. I get to pick and choose what I want to print.
Digital curriculum doesn’t take up bookshelf space
Don’t get me wrong, I love books and I have lots of bookshelves…but…they’re all full! I love that I can buy homeschool curriculum and easily keep it stored away to use later without having to find a place to put it.
Digital Curriculum is a frugal homeschooling option
Every year my mailbox is filled with homeschool curriculum catalogs and both my kids and I spend days drooling over the new books inside. Yet, my homeschool budget doesn’t allow for me to purchase everything I’d like. I love that digital curriculum is one of the most frugal homeschooling options out there and if I want to grab something new for our homeschool in the middle of the year, digital curriculum is what I buy.
Digital homeschool curriculum has made a tremendous impact on our homeschool. It has allowed my children to lead their own education more easily and given them the opportunity to learn about topics that they would not have otherwise.
If you’ve never used digital homeschool curriculum as part of your homeschooling journey before, I encourage you to try it out this summer — after all summer is the best time to test out changes to your homeschool!
