How you doin’? I mean, how are you really doing? When was the last time you asked yourself that question? Better yet, when was the last time you answered it honestly? The truth is, that homeschool moms often don’t ask the question. Ever. Why? Because we just don’t have enough time to think about ourselves. It is time to change that and this Self Care Challenge is a great place to start.

I’m a recovering OCD, over the top planner. Schedules, to-do lists and checkboxes are a few of my favorite things.

However, when you run a family business, homeschool your kids and are a professional blogger, you have to be flexible. You have to be willing to live life unplanned.

For many years, I didn’t worry about me. I had two kids to raise, a full-time job, a home to care for and a husband to love.

Me? My health and well-being were last on my list. It finally caught up with me a couple of years ago. In a scary way, in front of my kids while my husband was out on the ocean working.

It caused me to hit pause on my life. Literally. I couldn’t get out of bed. My teens had to take care of me because my husband had to work.

Since then, I’ve learned that I can’t work from sunup to sundown. I set limits to the work I do because if I don’t, I would just keep going until all my to-dos were completed.

One of the best decisions I’ve made in regards to taking care of myself was to be intentional with my bedtime.

Each month I choose 2 books to read. One for fun and another faith-based. The last thing I do before going to bed is to read at least one chapter from both books.

Perhaps, you like me, need to figure out how to take care of yourself? It truly is my hope and prayer, that this month-long challenge will help you find just what you need — for you!

Inside this Self Care Challenge Calendar, you will find simple ways to care for you. Going to bed early, baking a special treat, reading a book, sitting outside and much more!
