Summertime homeschooling can be a blast! This July Homeschool Planning Pack will help you make it fun for your kids, as well as easy and organized for you.
Summer fun doesn’t have to not include learning. After all, learning is a part of life and as grown-ups, your kids will be learning year round. Why not encourage lifelong learning from a young age?
Throughout the summer months, I’ve found that my children actually enjoy homeschooling. Our schedule during June, July and August doesn’t look the same as the rest of the homeschool year, however, we do homeschool.
From field trips to science experiments to art projects and baking classes, summer homeschooling includes a lot of outside time, hands-on learning and experiences for us.
Many times I’ve seen homeschool moms concerned about their kids missing out on interaction with friends that aren’t homeschooled during the summertime. While I was never concerned about it, I actually found that our family homeschooling year round was positive for parents of public-schooled children.
Neighbors we’ve had in the summertime whose children were in public school actually appreciated our year round homeschooling schedule. It encouraged their children to enjoy finding learning activities to do on their own in the summertime.
The beauty of summertime homeschooling is that there is no specific schedule or curriculum you have to follow. Summer is the perfect time to allow for creativity, child-led learning, exploration and most of all, fun.
