While we typically associate Valentine’s Day with love, we don’t usually take time to think about what true love really is around the holiday. Learning about the history of St. Valentine reveals what love truly looks like and how we should really celebrate Valentine’s Day around the world. Yet, the best example for love comes straight from the Bible, God’s love story to us. In First Corinthians 13, the love chapter, we are given 13 verses describing love in its purest form. It is from this passage of scripture that we should learning how to love rightly, how God loves.
This Valentine’s Day, I encourage you to take time to complete this simple Bible study with your children as you journey through First Corinthians 13, the love chapter. It is my hope and prayer that we discover how God wants us to love each other, fellow Christians and the world in which we live together as a family.
