As with most holidays, the reasons we observe Earth Day should be part of our daily lives. How about a bit of Earth Day fun for your little ones?
By teaching our children the meaning of Earth Day, we can help them learn to become good stewards of the world each and every day of the year.
A few ways that you can incorporate Earth Day into your homeschool include a unit study on the Earth, books that teach children to take care of the planet we call home, planting a few trees, picking up trash along the roadside, setting up a compost, recycling paper/metal/plastic or taking reusable bags to the grocery store.
In the beginning, God gave Adam and Eve the responsibility of caring for the Earth. That responsibility has been passed down from generation to generation.
Taking care of the world God created for us should be important to each of us. As parents, we need to ensure that our children are prepared to continue passing it down to the next generation.
